August Moments

Carter has a soft spot for animals and seeems to have a knack for finding them in distress. This is the second turtle he has rescued from the middle of a street in and around our neighborhood. Always happy to get those little guys back to the ponds where they belong.

Now that school has been in session for over a week, we finally have happier mornings around here. We do not take back-to-school pictures the first week back for a reason.

Carter has chosen TaeKwon Do for his after school activity this year. Right now they are in a two week trial so Kelsey joined him to see if she likes it. They both love it! So sad, Kelsey will have to wait until summer to add this to her activities. Not enough time, not enough MONEY!! Kelsey is taking dance for her fourth year, which has become increasingly expensive now that Jazz has been added to her Ballet and Tap class. She is loving it.

Carter having lunch and a play date with his good buddy, Brock. The two of them together can tear up the game room and send an adult running for earplugs. They have tons of fun together.

This is actually the kids first time to ride one of those little goofy ride on quarter machines. ( I know what your thinking, my children are so deprived). Actually, if I had thought about it along ti me ago, we could have been sending a lot less money entertaining them.

Conocophillips has a "Bring Your Children To Work Day" every year. Kelsey has been waiting patiently for this days since she learned about it about 4 years ago. She was so excited to finally go see all the fun Daddy has during the day while she is either at home or school. LOL. Actually, the show they put on the for the kids does make work look fun to a First Grader. She got to sit at a desk, draw and color, eat lots of snacks, score lots of free Conocophillips paraphernalia, and got to meet Mom and Carter out to lunch with Carter and Dad. I took her home from there, but she was super disappointed. "Daddy has fun at work, I don't want to go home!"....If she only knew the real world. I think the purpose of this day is very effective - don't you?
